Our beloved mother, Elizabeth (Betty) F. Querim (Florent) age 100 passed away peacefully on Feb 23, 2026 after a brief illness at Sacred Heart Nursing Home.
Elizabeth lived in New Bedford her whole life. She was the widow of Jack (Neshet) Querim whom she was married to for 29 years before his passing in 1979. She was also the daughter of the late Ulderic and Henrietta Florent.
She is survived by her daughters, Jayne Camacho and Patti Querim (Thomas Frates), her granddaughter, Janele Camacho and great grandchildren Maison and Hailie Camacho whom she adored. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her special sister, Blanche LeBlanc and Dorothy Nolan and brothers, Wilfred, Henry and Joseph Florent.
Elizabeth was a happy loving person who was wonderful to her family. After retiring from Colonial Cable she stood home and helped babysit her granddaughter and attended all her school functions.
Elizabeth had a passion for food and loved to eat. She was a lover of all animals and she also loved the Boston Red Sox and didn't miss a game or practice for many years. Many of her daughters and granddaughters friends knew our mother and loved her. Everyone called her Meme' or Auntie. She will be missed by all.
We would like to thank the caretakers at Sacred Heart Nursing Home for all the love and care they gave our mother in the last seven months. You all made it easy for us to leave her everyday in your wonderful care. We will forever be grateful.
Arrangements will be made at a future date.
